ready…set…plan… February 9, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — Holly @ 4:09 pm

Ahhh what an amazing two weeks it has been being an engaged women–and yes the entire two weeks has been spent away from my darling (until tomorrow night!).  We are learning, quite quickly I might add, that there is so much to consider and plan for.  Although we had picked out a tentative date, that may change with the availability of a reception site and photographer.  Thank goodness we are flexible and easy going!

Saturday the 7th my mom, matron of honor (Maria) and I went shopping for my wedding dress.  Before my mom and I had even left the house my dad was freely giving advice:

“Don’t buy anything” & “Don’t sign your name” says dad.

Well,  I  shook my ahead and smiled to acknowledge that I heard him…well… I didn’t heed his advice.  I did end up buying my dress this weekend!!  I could tell by the reactions of mom and Maria-before I even saw it in the mirror.  And after I saw it it was just perfect.  It feels great, and is really really pretty!  Sorry readers but my darling sweet fiance reads my blog, so no pictures will be posted or details given-in keeping with the tradition!

So that is really nice to have done, now we have a laundry list of things to consider.  We are spending our Valentine’s Day looking at reception sites and gathering information-as we need to pick and book a place soon.  I am praying that the Lord will bless us with the place on Saturday!

In addition to thinking about the wedding and planning I have been trying to spend a good amount of time in the gym.  I joined Anytime Fittness and I am completely enjoying my experiences there.  And I am feeling better with each work out!  I am keeping tabs on the milage I walk/jog out of curiosity for myself!

If you recall in my previous posts last year, before I met Kyle, I was struggling to find a home church.  I ended up going back to the Angels Camp church since then.  However I have attended church with Kyle and his family in Folsom whenever I get the chance.  I am quickly seeing what God’s plan was all along…I already had a home church awaiting me where Kyle and his family attend.  I am now going to attended there regularly.  The people are awesome, the feel is very welcoming, and small groups are starting up :)

I am so excited about the future!  I can’t even put it into words.

My sweet Kyle posted about our day trip to the sierras please check it out here.

Well, that is all for right now! I hope this finds everyone well!

Guess What… January 25, 2009

I am ENGAGED!

My sweet Kyle proposed on January 23rd.  He made it such a special day all the way around!! He started the day off by picking me up at  home (which ment he had to leave Folsom at 5 am-ish) and drove me to work.  He picked me up for lunch and we had a little taco bell for lunch.  When he came to pick me up from work he had gotten his hair cut and was all snazzy—-and ohhhhh yeah a dozen read roses!!!!!!  We drove to Sutter Creek and parked in the parking lot and did our daily Bible reading.  While he was putting his Bible away he was kinda shuffling around.  *Side note…we have this “thing” where we hold our hand out (to symbolize infinity) followed by “I Love you this much”*  Kyle turned to me and asked “Do you love me this much”? Putting his hand out.  And I said “Of course I do!” And then all the sudden a ring box appeared and he asked again “Do you love me this much”? Of course I went all girlie on him and was sooo excited!!  “Holly, Sweetie, will you marry me”? Kyle asked.  “PLEASE!!!!” was my response!

Kyle and I then went to dinner at Belotti’s in Sutter Creek.  Kyle then drove me home, so we could share the news of the evening with my mom and dad!  Mom and dad are so thrilled and happy for us!!

It was a perfect ending to Kyle’s trip to the valley.  It was so hard to say goodbye to him that night!  I can’t wait for the day where we don’t have to do that anymore!!

I am so utterly in love with Kyle that words can not even describe.  I can honestly say that Kyle is the ONE that God made just for me.  I am so happy, and elated to see the future that God has prepared for us!!  Ahhhhh I found the ONE!!!!!!!!   Oh my goodness!!  We are gonna have an amazing life together—I already know it!

So Kyle and I are looking at August, yes 2009.  When ya know you know!!  We can’t wait to start our life together so why wait!

Please check his blog out:  http://norcalweather.blogspot.com/.  He has posted about your engagement too!!  :)

long time no post December 27, 2008

Hi readers! Well I hope this finds everyone well after Christmas. I hope that you and your families had a blessed time together.

I know that I haven’t posted about my SoCal trip yet, but it is still in the works. Suffice to say that it was a blast!

Well, I have been a little preoccupied lately–but in a great way! The friend I recently introduced to you–Kyle, is now now my sweet and amazing boyfriend! He has become very special to me, and I am so thankful everyday for God blessing me with him.

Our first date went so amazingly well that Kyle ended up meeting me for lunch everyday he was in town (which was 7 lunch dates). We had several dates while he was in town for a total of 12 times together within 9 days. It is and was the most amazing time!! It was terribly hard to say goodbye to him on Christmas Eve, as he had to travel. We are eagerly awaiting my trip to his town to spend New Year’s together. We have a blast together and we have so many things in common (even important big items down to the little tiniest detail). And he is laid back like I am. If I do say so myself, Kyle was worth all the praying, waiting and heartaches! :)

Christmas was great, despite missing Kyle. I was able to spend time with family I haven’t seen in many months! It was really great!!

Well, I have been wanting to post about my boyfriend for sometime now. How ’bout a picture:

Happy New Year if I don’t post before then!

hehe!  I am in the final days of my twenties!!! I can’t believe it!!  I got over “the week” were I thought it was going to be awful turning thirty, but you know what… my life is pretty nice right now, and I am so thankful for everyone, everything and every experience (good and bad).  So bring it on!!!  :)   (plus… I have gotten many comments on how I don’t look 30, instead much younger—- how could that be a bad thing right!!)

Happy Friday!!! :)

Well first, to your left you can see that I am a Tom McClintock supporter and well, I just wanted to congratulate him on his victory (that is still being counted but he is the winner).  CONGRATS!!  Even though I am not in his district I am still a really big “fan” of him–after hearing him on Armstrong & Getty, and John & Ken, I line up with him on nearly all his beliefs.

And now on to today’s installment of Garfield: (it is cute!)
