it’s official… November 25, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — Holly @ 10:23 pm

I have officially been accepted into the Master’s Program in Education Leadership & Policy with the concentration in Higher Education!  :D The program starts in January and is about 1.5-2 years long.  My every Wednesday and every other Saturday will now be devoted to school (and training on Saturdays for the Breast Cancer walk also).  I am excitedly nervous, but know this will be a great opportunity for me to learn the skills I will need to advance in my career…  still weird saying that… career…  cool!

Just wanted to leave an update!

got my voice back… November 25, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — Holly @ 12:04 am

ahhh I finally got my voice back but that comes with coughing and sneezing however.  I did manage to scrapbook until 1am Saturday night so I guess I am getting better hehe! :)

I am starting to build up some “inventory” for my little business.  I made about 8 tags last night!  I haven’t made any cards yet to sell.  I have to plan out my christmas cards once my Sizzlits arrive via Joanns.com to use for the Sidekick I won @ the Scrapbook Expo this year!  50% off the Sizzlits, can’t beat that!

But I have been making a few cards:

I am still awaiting official word if I got accepted into the Master’s Program starting in January of 2009.

I can’t believe that it is almost Thanksgiving!  I attended FCC (a church I am returning to after my unsucessful “shopping” for a church).  And I was blessed beyond belief.  It is a great little church, where a few people actually know who I am and were very happy to see me on Sunday.  It was a great service–there was actually no sermon.  But the pastor gave the congregation the opportunity to tell everyone what they were thankful for.  It was a blessing indeed!  :)

One last note:  I would like everyone to meet my new friend “NorCal Adventures” aka Kyle.  Check out his blog to your left under the “Friends and Fellow Bloggers” list.  Kyle is an awesome photographer and I have been blessed by his friendship so far!  :)

I hope everyone is well,

cards and more cards November 12, 2008

Hi all, so I have been ankle deep in card making, and to commemorate them (not all because some are birthdays that are fourth coming and the retreat on Saturday). Enjoy:

Here are all the Make-n-Takes for Saturday

Here are all the Make-n-Takes for Saturday

I am really having a blast making these cards. I will have to re-adjust now when I scrap pages. :)

Otherwise I am doing well, I had an interview for the Master’s Program in Education Leadership, the last step of the application process. We will know by next week if we are excepted or not. Cross your fingers!

I had to make an appointment @ the doc’s on Monday morning. I have been having troubles breathing (I have asthma-so I though I may just need a different inhaler or something). With my pneumonia history, I really thought it was time to go in since my breathing wasn’t getting any better. My doc ended giving my a 6 day steroid regime and treat my breathing issues like bronchitis. It is a little better, so far. My doc said to go back if it doesn’t get better by the end of the week to come back to the doc.

This Saturday is Laura Mason’s retreat, I am really excited and looking forward to it! I even recruited a co-worker to attend too–who has never scrapooked before! I am crashing @ Jake and Laura’s Saturday night, and then attending church @ the spiffy Granite Bay church —one of the spiffiest (besides Firstcov) in Sacramento. So I am really looking forward to it.

what else… well that is all I can think of right now.. plus it is after 1am and I need to go to sleep.

quick update… November 7, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — Holly @ 11:51 pm

ahhh I have got all (at least that is my hope) the supplies to begin cutting out the make-n-take cards for next weekend! :) I am really happy with the paper choices I made! Here are a few cards I made this week too:

A couple Cards

Two cards I made this week

Tomorrow I am attending a mini woman’s conference at a church I used to attend, and re-considering going back. The ticket included a free ticket for a friend-so my best friend Cheryl, baby Alyssa, and I are going. It should be a really nice time… I will report back on it! Afterwards I will be starting on the make-n-takes. This weekend also holds some preparation for my interview for the Master’s Program in Education Leadership-that is on Monday.

Until then, I am hoping to ward off whatever my asthma is doing to me. I have a doc appointment Monday to look into changing inhalers…what I have is not working :(

Well, I am off to bed…

Happy Birthday Billy Graham! November 7, 2008

Filed under: Uncategorized — Holly @ 4:54 pm

90 years old!  I am amazed by this man, and his last book, text from his last crusade in New York, is what led me to re-dedicate my life to Christ and become baptized.  Here is a great little video the AP did here .  Also there is a link/banner to your right that you can wish him a happy birthday!

I promise I will post more, I have been really busy the last two weeks when I get home and have been too tuckered to write-and for it to make sense.  :)

I hope that everyone is well!
